THE FMD HOUSE

Our Story

  • Mission

We would like to introduce you to the Fannie Mae Dobbins (FMD) Transitional House. This is an outreach effort that is born from the Prison Outreach and Witnessing (POW) ministry of Central Baptist Church (CBC) Kingsport, TN and a partnership with other local prison and community outreach programs. In March 2006 the FMD House became a state-chartered and 50l(c)3 category agency. Our mission is to reduce the recidivism of ex-offenders by providing much needed services and support to them and their families as they transition back into the community.

  • Objectives

Since 2015 our goal has been to provide a physical location with a safe and nurturing environment that will allow and support the rehabilitation of parolees and ex-offenders. Adequate temporary shelter along with life skills, job placement, treatment monitoring, harm reduction support and strong mentoring are the foundation of the outreach program.
